UNICEF is deeply concerned about the devastating impact of the earthquake on the children and families affected today in Myanmar.
Initial reports indicate significant damage to buildings and roads in Sagaing, Nay Pyi Daw, and Mandalay, urban centers where hundreds of thousands of children live. Damage has also been reported in Bangkok and other parts of Thailand. It is not yet known how many people are affected.
UNICEF teams are on the ground in the affected areas to assess the impact and prepare to support the humanitarian response
